Starting with a new therapist can feel really daunting. You’ve finally made the decision to go and see someone, but going through all the options and styles of therapists is so overwhelming that it can take months to finally feel ready to reach out.
You’re ready to get started, but every time you try to find someone you start to wonder if they’re really going to get it. You try to picture yourself opening up to this stranger, but the fear of the unknown, the awkward silences, and exposing your most vulnerable side to someone in a blazer seems to keep getting in the way.
I should know. I’ve been there.
I want to listen to you and hear you. I understand that this means I will also need to guide you. I aim to offer you a place for you to unpack the things that aren’t so pretty – maybe things that haven’t even seen the light of day.
I also aim to guide you through repacking them in a way that helps you move around with more ease.
There are things we’re scared to look at and then there are things we don’t even know to look at. We notice that patterns in our life keep repeating themselves, but we can’t seem to make the connection as to why.
Why am I always attracted to unavailable men?
Why do people walk all over me?
Why do I end up in unstable and chaotic relationships?
I used to love music and entertainment, so why am I so irritable all the time?
I help you look at what leads to these patterns and how to change them. Together, we’ll unpack the things that are getting in your way, organize them so they make sense to you, and then decide which things are worth keeping and what patterns or beliefs need to be thrown away.
Whether it is depression, anxiety, relationship issues or work issues, or just generally feeling like you’re in a funk, we have room to look at all of it.
I’m seeing people in person and online for therapy sessions. I am accepting patients anywhere in California. Please reach out and schedule a session or if you have any questions.
