Self Care Party

June 7, 2017 by Elise Leave a Comment

Whatever u decide to do to take care of yourself- Choose It.

If you’re gonna eat trash at least do it mindfully, if you’re gonna lay down for 3 hours and just stare at the ceiling- do it because you know you need it. When we do things like watch 40 hours of netflix and we sort of just find ourselves there without meaning to- we feel pretty bad. If we take the rebellious nature we innately have away by actively CHOOSING to watch all of the Keepers in one sitting (oops)- and looking for how we may need to do that in that moment, acknowledging it can either help us or move us out of it.

Today I am going to come home from a lonngggggg ass day of work and re-organize my bathroom shelves and blast something I can sing/scream to (stevie nicks? Stacy Q? Tears for Fears? WHO KNOWS) . And I am RIDICULOUSLY excited about it.
Then hopefully a glass of wine with my BFF or two and talk about nothing/everything and laugh and cry and listen and talk.

So you see, self-care doesnt *always* have to be meditating or doing yoga (although those are VERY good options)- it can be just stuff that fills you up and makes you happy when you actually need it and I NEED IT TONIGHT. So what is yours?
